In short, half of our roles are still up for grabs! Roles close up as soon as we find someone right for the part, so make sure to get your auditions in soon!

To Audition:

• Please prepare a canon reading from your selected character, and be prepared to answer some questions to test your ability to react IC.

• Skype will be the preferred means of audition, but if there is some difficulty with this we will be willing to find some sort of workaround to allow equal opportunity for casting.

• WIP cosplays are more than welcome to audition, but should have at least 65% of their cosplay completed. Also note that we will only be able to judge your cosplay and audition’s merit based on what we see, and that preference may be given to completed cosplays if they show a more comprehensive and adept version of the same character.

• The character you audition for must be shown in their main, canon outfit; no [S] [A6I3] Ministrife!!! versions of your character, please. The only exception to this rule will be Mituna Captor who may be cosplayed without his helmet.

In association with the hit panels ENTER COMMAND and WHAT PANEL?, the Homestuck Choose Your Own Adventure is coming to METROCON 2013! Presenting, the Press [ENTER] ==> A Homestuck Choose Your Own Adventure Panel Open Auditions!

WHAT IS THIS PANEL?

• Press [ENTER] will be a long-form improv panel centered around Homestuck and Homestuck characters. The panel will follow a basic plot, however, unlike most panels, the situations, scenes and characters will be chosen by the audience! This panel is highly audience interactive, and each panel is as unique as the people that attend.

WHEN AND WHERE IS THIS PANEL?

• This panel will be at Metrocon 2013 in Tampa, Florida, on Friday July 26th at 7 PM in Panel Room 19!

SO WHAT CHARACTERS ARE YOU LOOKING FOR?

• Here’s the fun part, we’re looking for ANY CHARACTERS. Instead of having a set cast of trolls or kids, all panelists will instead be picked by acting and improvisation ability. So you can audition for anyone. Beta trolls, beta kids, alpha trolls, alpha kids, sprites, exiles, anyone. Press [ENTER] will strive to be a panel full of skilled and capable actors who can give a good show. You can audition for however many characters as you like (however no AU characters or designs will be accepted). The main point is that no one, I repeat, no one is pre-cast. 

WHAT ARE THE RESTRICTIONS AND REQUIERMENTS?

• There are a few things you’re going to need to be accepted into this panel. While there are no age or experience restrictions, there are some things that you will not be cast without. The first is a cosplay that, at the time of casting, is complete or at least 50% completed. The second is a lack of stage fright. Panel room 19 has a seating capacity of 180. You will need to be completely confident in your ability to perform in front of that large a crowd. And lastly, you will need the ability to commit to a majority of skype rehearsals that begin from the time of casting until the convention. You will also need the ability to memorize a minimal amount of lines. 
• You will need to have Skype to audition and to attend rehearsals. 

HOW WILL YOU CHOOSE WHO WILL BE IN THE CAST? HOW WILL AUDITIONS GO?

• There are three criteria for being in the cast. The first is the meeting the above requirements. The second is a quality cosplay. While this panel does focus more on acting ability, a good cosplay is necessary. The third is top notch acting ability. 
• There will be two rounds of Skype auditions. The first round will be a Skype call in which I will ask random questions and have you answer as each character you auditioned for. I will spend only a few minutes on each character. This serves the purpose of highlighting who you are strongest as and eliminating a large chunk of people who do not make the cut. The second round is callbacks, where I will do a more detailed improv interview with you as those characters I am most interested in you playing. From there the cast will be decided from the 15 best actors and their strongest character auditions. Those characters will then compromise the cast. Being in cosplay is not necessary for these or any rehearsals. 

OKAY, SOUNDS GREAT, NOW HOW DO I AUDITION?

• Auditioning is simple! Just send an e-mail with the following information to pressENTERaudition@hotmail.com. (PLEASE NOTE THAT THAT IS “AUDITION” NOT “AUDITIONS” don’t ask why it’s a long and embarrassing story). The information you need to send is the following:
• Name:
• Tumblr name/cosplay alias (if applicable):
• Best place to contact you (best e-mail AND best social network):
• Characters you are auditioning for in order of preference:
• Performance experience (including outside of panels and cosplay work):
• Can you make a majority of once a week Skype rehearsals for this panel?
• Are you comfortable performing in front of a crowd of over 150 people?
• Pictures of all the cosplays you are auditioning for (full body or 3/4 only, progress shots needed if in progress):

HOW LONG DO I HAVE? HOW WILL I KNOW IF I MADE IT OR WHEN MY AUDITION TIME IS?

• I will stop taking applications June 5th, 2013 AT 11:59 PM.
• When I receive your audition, I will send an e-mail back confirming I have gotten it, although this may be days afterwords so be patient. If by the end of June 6th you have not received an e-mail from me and it is not in your spam folder, it means I have not gotten your audition, please contact me.
• All communication about this panel will be done through e-mail until the panel is cast, after which there will be a skype and facebook group. Please watch your e-mails for information regarding interview times and acceptance!

Here’s a big reminder that Jaxstuck Promstuck is coming up!! I forgot to mention it at Bellecon. I really need to know who is able to come so that Alyssia and I can get prepared. If you can come, pleeeeeease shoot me an ask, facebook message me, or send me an email. I will not put you on the guest list if you just rsvp on the facebook event page. I want to have a lot of fun and I can’t wait!! If you have any suggestions as to what kind of games/activities we could do, please feel free to tell me. I could use more ideas.
